Today’s full moon in Sagittarius/Gemini is at 19 degrees. If you have a sensitive point or a planet within about 4 degrees of this number, especially in the mutable signs which include the other two – Pisces and Virgo – or in air or fire signs, you will feel the energy to some extent. It will all depend on how sensitive you have become to esoteric energy and the degree of control you like to exert in your life. The more sensitive you are, the more you are able to tune in to invisible energy. The wider the orb, that is the greater the number away from 19, the less it is likely to be felt, sensed, or intuited. The more exact, the more likely it is that you will recognize the energy at work in your life.
I will copy below the latest update from Stephanie Austin who is my favourite guru on the subject of transits, especially those involving the moon, like eclipses. I would highly recommend that you subscribe to her bi-monthly updates if you like to be kept informed on these matters.
This full moon will amplify the energy for anyone having an issue with Saturn right now as Saturn is at 25 degrees and moving retrograde – the orb is wide, but becoming more exact as the day(s) moves on. The moon will conjunct Saturn about 12 hours after it is exactly opposite the sun local time, around 14.15 BST. Ask yourself how you are feeling as the day progresses to test your level of sensitivity to these markers.
As an example, I have the moon in my birth chart at 14 degrees Virgo and Venus at 25 Sag and Mercury at 12 Sag. Both in the 5th. As a 4th house sun, the moon highlights my feelings about security; while Venus in Sag. ruled by Jupiter which is in Taurus (mutual reception) highlights my need for freedom and the unrestricted life. Inevitably there is some tension involved here – this tension acts like Esther’s ‘contrast’. Abraham might say this is therefore an opportunity as the tension clarifies these issues. He/they say: ‘if you know what you don’t want, you know what you do want’. On a simple and general level this might be true, but astrology shows that a square aspect, an opposition and a quincunx all complicate this general rule. I do not want too much freedom because I want some security; I do not want too much security because I need some freedom.
Some people, lucky people, find their security in their freedom; some find their freedom in their security. There are many other measures in between these two ends of the spectrum which is why the subject is archetypal. Indeed, as the UK recovers from the general election we see the whole idea playing out in detail. Saturn rules our social security (what an oxymoron that is). Saturn is the ruler of the 10th house and Capricorn. Theresa May, while her chart is X rated (unknown birth time) has Jupiter at 17 and Mars at 13 in Virgo-Pisces. This tense aspect is amplified by the full moon today as she tries to retain her balance as a Libra (Libra suns are often in a state of ‘un-balance’ as their job is to always find the point of balance) after a disappointing election for the Conservatives. Afterwards she spoke to us of a perceived need for ‘certainty’.
For me, to focus on politics adds to a general sense of insecurity or just boredom, so I do not bother with it. I take what comes. For someone close to me, it is a subject which is very important to him: he has the sun conjunct Saturn in Cancer in the first house with the moon on the MC. The subject makes him feel expanded in his sense of self-worthiness.
Perhaps ‘worthiness’ is an important word when we are thinking about freedom and security. For example, raise your hands all those blogsters who feel they are loved, or who feel loveable. Now ask yourself if you feel worthy of that love. Interesting, isn’t it? Who gives us our guideline for worthiness? Is it society? Our God? Our self? Something else?
I watched a movie yesterday called, Hidden Figures. I liked it and became absorbed by the characters. It told the true story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. It reminded me of a question I once put to Jean the Magnificent about her experience of race issues when she was growing up in the 1930’s. I was able to find a little piece of biographical history which was recorded in 1989.
What has this to do with freedom and security? I am currently staying at a hotel because I did not want to be at home. I have a poor relationship with home at present. I like the hotel. It has a huge tree out of my window in a quiet garden. I needed this peace very much. Out of the peace was born a healing; part of the healing was the loss of self consciousness that comes during absorption in something else. Out of the something else including the movie which had a great deal to do with self-worthiness, and because the ingredients were conducive, Jean spoke to me from her non-physical world with several pertinent messages. It was exceptionally helpful to this place, this time, this full moon…… this person.
The film finished with one character asking another: ‘Do you think we will get to the moon some day?’ The answer came, ‘We already have’. Mathematical theory projects out of the known (secure) world into that which is beyond.
